Teenagers Postponing Adulthood
On NECNs "The Take with Sue O'Connell"
Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology, Julie Ryan, PhD, went on NECN’s The Take with Sue O’Connell to discuss the latest research on teenagers postponing adulthood. She cites the higher volume of adolescents attending college as compared to previous generations to be a reason why teens are delaying adult activities like drinking, driving and having sex. Additionally, Professor Ryan explains what parents can do to coach their children into adulthood by giving them small responsibilities and teaching them to be more independent, gradually.
