Drs. Fialkov and Haddad Awarded P&G Grant to Work with Children and Families in Rural Kenya
A $10,000 investment from Proctor & Gamble will support William James College's work with the Kimo Wellness Foundation and the Gathage School in rural Kenya. Alongside their homes, schools are one of the most important developmental contexts in students' lives. As schools are central to students' physical and mental health, a whole-school commitment to creating a nourishing environment and cultivating wellbeing is imperative. This grant will enable Dr. Claire Fialkov and Dr. David Haddad to lead a class of six William James College students to Kenya this summer to deliver their innovative curriculum to increase protective factors and resilience for children in this impoverished school community in rural Kenya.
