Guide to Phone Resources: Warmlines and Hotlines

What Is The Difference Between a Warmline and a Hotline?

A hotline is used for emergencies when someone is in an immediate crisis. A warmline is for those who are not in crisis, but who need additional support. Nonurgent phone numbers can be referred to as a warmline or helpline. They are usually free to call. They provide confidential support and can be staffed by experienced mental health counselors or trained peer support. They can also provide additional resources. Below you will find helpful phone resources grouped by different topics and populations.
