Field Education
Experience Matters.
In your last year, you will have a field placement experience. This supervised experience will provide you with an opportunity to apply your new classroom skills in clinical settings. We have a Field Placement Coordinator, who is a dedicated faculty member, and will assist you in finding an appropriate placement and supervisor. In some cases, it is possible for field education to be completed at a students’ current work site; however, this determination will be made on an individual basis by the Field Placement Coordinator in consultation with the Program Director.
The field placement experience is a minimum of 100 hours over 12 weeks. This can be split into two 4-hour shifts or 1 day for 8-10 hours. Students have created programs, training and workshops for domestic violence, survivors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking, and more.
Here are some examples of field site locations.
