This past summer, through William James College's Center for Multicultural and Global Mental Health program, Associate Professor Dr. Natalie Cort and a host of other William James College faculty and students travelled to Guyana; a country with the highest suicide rate worldwide. In her new blog on Psychology Today, Dr. Cort details the trip and explains the importance of cultural immersion programs for mental health counseling students and the importance of raising awareness and educating underdeveloped countries on the significance of mental health.
