Some Thoughts on National Coming Out Day
Resources for coming out and supporting others who have come out to you
October 11, 1987 marked the March on Washington for Gay and Lesbian Rights. From this, National Coming Out Day was created and is celebrated annually in remembrance of this historic march for human rights. Associate Professor, Jessica Stahl, PhD, explains the significance of this historic day in her new blog on Psychology Today. Dr. Stahl details what individuals can do to create a safe world for LGBT people, especially in terms of coming out to someone and what it means to be an ally for the LGBT community.
