“What I think the Supreme Court was trying to do was create a mechanism for those who really have matured and rehabilitated themselves, that for children, at least, a catastrophic choice, even if it’s involvement in a heinous crime, does not mark you forever,” said William James College Associate Vice President for Community Engagement and Associate Professor Robert Kinscherff on the monumental Roper v. Simmons Supreme Court ruling in 2005. He was featured in “Second Chance Kids” on Frontline for his expertise in the mental health of juvenile felons.
