This course focuses on current complex international companies from the leader’s point of view and explores a variety of approaches to leading across organizational, country, and industry boundaries. Students will learn to understand profit and loss statements in light of espoused strategy to determine organizational effectiveness. Emergent business models will be examined across industries and global economic trends. Students will consider the dynamic tensions and challenges of managing multiple stakeholders and ethical boundaries of socially responsible organizations in light of global crises and challenges like climate change. Through case analyses students will identify the competencies of the global leader who must navigate across culturally diverse, legal, country, and industry boundaries.
