Media psychology uses psychology as a lens to understand the changing media landscape and the impact of the use, experience and production of media technologies. The object of the proseminar is to provide an overview of the primary areas of media psychology so students can become familiar with the use of psychological theory to analyze and develop legacy and emerging media. The course will introduce issues in media research methodologies, public perception of media, and changing models of communication and information transfer. The course will also review the academic writing, argument construction, and formatting. Open only to students in the master’s program in Media Psychology or by instructor approval.
