Central to being a 21st century change agent in higher education, individuals need to learn leadership skills that differentiate between technical and adaptive solutions. This course guides students through self-discovery with the focus on building skills to motivate, advise, build tolerance, lead, follow and otherwise facilitate change in Institutions of higher education. The course emphasizes working with populations of college students and college student personnel and their supporting stakeholders. Students gain insights to better understand their impact on others. The work of this course will include self-assessment measures of personality styles, Emotional Intelligence journaling, the how of constructive feedback, and the shifting and impacting existing institutional value systems.
