This course provides an overview and understanding of the way students learn, grow and develop during their college years, and on helping student plan for post-collegiate life. Developmental models will include Psychosocial, Cognitive, Environmental, and Humanistic, and special attention will be given to the development of both traditional and non-traditional college students. The goal of this course is to provide students with the necessary tools to become more thoughtful and intentional facilitators of environments that generate healthy developmental opportunities for diverse groups of college students. Emphasis will be placed on using the developmental theory to guide and improve practice.
