This course will examine the neurobiological and psychological processes involved in giving and receiving feedback effectively in leadership contexts. Students will learn theories and practical techniques for providing effective, constructive, and well-received feedback, as well as for receiving feedback that promotes learning and growth. The course will engage in experiential learning assignments on topics such as the role of feedback in leadership and employee development, different types of feedback and their impact, psychological barriers to giving and receiving feedback, in addition to the neural bases of social cognition (social and cognitive neuroscience), emotion regulation, and executive functions and how they influence feedback processes.
