Immersive exploration of the unconscious forces that shape group life. Anchored in Bion and Tavistock tradition, the 5-week applied lab course integrates the Field Theory of Kurt Lewin, Group-Analytic perspectives, and interpersonal frameworks. Students will analyze the tension between the "Work Group" and "Basic Assumption" theories examining how authority, role, and boundary serve as both psychological containers and sites of systemic defense. Through a combination of experiential "here-and-now" sessions, experiential labs, self-reflection, and rigorous theoretical analysis, participants will develop a group relations consultant’s stance, capable of identifying complex phenomena such as projective identification, valency, and anti-group within organizational ecosystems.
