Advancing Veteran Suicide Prevention: Military Culture, Moral Injury and Military Resilience

This conference is hybrid and is being offered in-person and virtually.

This day-long conference has been designed for Behavioral Health Providers who are looking to serve clients with a military background, whether a service member, veteran or loved one. You will hear from experienced military veteran clinicians on best practices and identify the unique issues and concerns of this population and resources available to you and your client. 

This conference will have a dedicated emphasis on the recent rethinking of veteran suicide prevention. Along with this overarching dedication to advancing veteran suicide prevention, contributing topics will include moral injury, military culture, and a presentation on the relationship between lethal means and suicide prevention. Also there will be an overview of the three-year Governor’s Challenge, and a panel of community resources.

5.5 hours of Continuing Education will be offered for Nurses (RN/LPN), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC I, LADC II) and LADC Assistants and Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAC/CADAC). Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs); all continuing education for LMHCs in MA must be approved by a recognized entity, NBCC, National Board of Certified Counselors is recognized by the MA Division of Professional Licensure Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions.
