Inclusive Leadership
Be a leader in diversity, equity and inclusion.
Leaders and practitioners in all venues require continuous focus and practice with cultural competence skills and leading in systems involving DEI issues.
This concentration is focused on developing leaders able to create the conditions needed to influence equitable mindsets and inclusive environments. By enhancing and utilizing skills that promote social justice, build social emotional competencies, and develop an understanding of human and group dynamics, participants will be equipped to create equitable organizational cultures and environments.
Curriculum Overview
Students who choose to create an Area of Emphasis (5 -7 credits) or a Concentration (8 to 12 credits) in Inclusive Leadership concentration will choose from the following course options:
- ORG LP786 - The Psychology of Racism and Discrimination (credits: 3)
- ORG LP787 - Multicultural and Inclusive Leadership (credits: 3)
- ORG LP788 - DEI Interventions and Facilitation (credits: 3)
- ORG LP749 - The Neuroscience of Prejudice (credits: 2)
Students pursuing these specialties will benefit from completing fieldwork hours as well as doctoral project research within the emphasized area.
