This course explores the mental health issues faced by Arab American communities, emphasizing the impact of cultural, historical, and socio-political factors. The course will also examine the psychological effects of acculturation, discrimination, and identity formation on Arab Americans, focusing on intersectional and developmental approaches. The course will review effective and culturally sensitive mental health care and interventions to Arab American clients. Prerequisite: CC522 Diversity and Cross Cultural Psychology.
