I am Karina Hwang, a 1st year clinical PsyD student planning on completing the neuropsychology concentration. I am most interested in a career as a pediatric neuropsychologist. I was born and raised in South Korea and am bilingual. I lived in Northern Virginia since 4th grade and attended the University of Virginia. I am part of the ACES field education team because practicum/internship is such a fundamental part of a clinical psychology student’s training and education, so I want to learn how to support others the most and mobilize all the resources and support provided at WJC. One tip for future students is understanding that the priorities of graduate school is significantly different than undergrad, as you get to invest more into your true clinical interests while serving various populations in the Greater Boston area. My favorite Boston activity is getting coffee at Gracenote Coffee, strolling around the Boston Public Garden, and walking to the end of Newbury Street. My email is khwang24@williamjames.edu—feel free to reach out at any time.
