Greetings prospective students. As a part-time student in the master's program, studying clinical mental health counseling with a concentration in LGBTQIA+ studies, my hope is to become a LMHC.
After over 20 years of being in the health and wellness industry working as a personal trainer and yoga teacher, I am making a shift toward mental health so I can work with clients in a holistic approach. At WJC, I am a representative of our department's ACES team which is a student led organization to improve student engagement both inside the classroom and out. I am also a member of the LEAD team that works closely with our Dean of Students to work on non-academic issues that may arise at WJC. In addition, I am a member of the WJC Rainbow Alliance Group.
What I love most about WJC is the level of compassion and support from our faculty and staff and the importance of field education to ensure we are prepared for our respective degrees.
My advice for new students to William James College is to be an active participant, which looks different for each student. Maybe it is joining a student organization, being proactive in getting academic support or making new friends
I grew up in Wisconsin and have been on the east coast for my entire adult life. I enjoy hiking the White Mountains, aimless wandering around the many art museums of Boston and trying out new restaurants with friends.
